Students taking the Level 2 Dispensing Assistant's course complete the three mandatory units and select three optional units to achieve the RPSGB accredited Level 2 award.

• Unit - Ensure your own actions reduce the risk to health and safety.
• Unit - Support the work of your team.
• Unit - Assist with the provision of a pharmacy customer service.

• Unit - Assist with the assembly of prescribed items.
• Unit - Assist with the supply of pharmaceutical stock (hospital only).
• Unit - Assist with the manufacture and assembly of medicinal products (hospital only).
• Unit - Assist with the sale of OTC medicines and provide information to customers on symptoms and products (community pharmacy only - needs prior completion of an MCA).
• Unit - Prepare to make pharmaceutical products (hospital only).
• Unit - Order, receive and store pharmaceutical stock.
• Unit - Assist with the supply of prescribed items.

• Provide Dispensing Assistants with skills and knowledge regarding legal aspects and procedures within the dispensary.

• Staff working either part or full time in a pharmacy or pharmacy department.

• 12 months

• Modules: multiple choice and short answer questions.
• Units: candidates complete task packs which contain activities which need to be witnessed by a pharmacist or senior pharmacy technician.
