What a fantastic day Buttercups Training had on Sunday the 8th of August! Our wonderful crew won all 3 races and gave our supporters great pride and joy cheering from the banks of the River Trent. It was a marvellous turnout from the Buttercups staff who brought along friends and family and refreshments for which we were all very grateful.

There were 34 teams and we came 16th - when you take into consideration the fact that we had a mixed team, we must salute the team's valiant efforts.

Smooth Radio commented often on how smart and cool our crew and supporters looked and we were delighted to win a trophy for the best dressed crew.

Most important however was the winning of the main prize - the company who had raised most money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People - a magnificent achievement for a small company - so thanks to everyone who donated money for all your generosity.

Thanks to all the crew and of course our brave waxees Nick and Rick and the waxers Dani and Clare who inspired a spurt in the sponsorship. Please look at the photo gallery at the bottom of this web page to view some pictures of the actual dragon boat event and Nick and Rick being waxed.
